| The Board and Staff of Pickering Creek recognize that local businesses and nonprofits are integral to the health of the community in which we are located. To demonstrate our belief in thinking globally and acting locally, the materials and services Pickering uses for special events, education programs and maintenance of the facility come from local sources whenever possible. Many local businesses have contributed to our success, each in their own way. Businesses provide corporate sponsorship of our two biggest events of the year, our Gala Event in June and our Harvest Hoedown Festival in October. The former is our biggest fundraiser of the year, the latter is our "open house" typically drawing 3,000 people in a single day. This year several business chose to support specific programs for youth, helping the Center reach a broader audience. Our 400 acre site, with five heated buildings and fourteen outbuildings, is always under some form of renovation. Many of the business you see listed have contributed time and/or materials to our efforts. All of these efforts have contributed to the Center's success and our ability to reach over 16,000 students every year. Please consider these community minded businesses as you do business.
